Zeal with Death or Glory

Zeal gains the Death or Glory Variant for free and deals 100-120% increased damage. Patch 3.1 raised that damage from 85-105%, and the Season 15 notes list no further change.

The variant changes how the skill is played: with Death or Glory, Zeal costs a share of your Maximum Life instead of Faith and strikes in a circle around you, and losing Life boosts its damage. The sword gives you that mode without spending a point on it.

Zeal in short

Zeal is a Core Paladin skill. It strikes enemies with blinding speed for damage and then follows with three more strikes. Its upgrade paths in the game data include Zealot's Legacy (four more strikes at random surrounding enemies), Cull the Wicked (a larger cleave, two more strikes and extra damage against Weakened enemies) and Death or Glory. The sword picks the last of those paths for you.

The sword is a two-handed weapon, so it occupies the whole weapon slot, and it always drops with Weapon Damage and Skill Ranks to Zeal. A Zeal that pays in Life is easier to run alongside ways of getting Life back.
