Thrown traps

Your Trap Skills can be thrown and deal increased damage. Throwing means a trap can land at range, where the Rogue would otherwise have to stand next to it.

The damage bonus is a separate line from the throwing rule, so it also works on traps that you place at your feet.

Which skills are Traps

In the game data the Trap tag belongs to Caltrops, Poison Trap and Death Trap. Poison Trap is also a Subterfuge skill, the group that several Rogue uniques listen to. The chest armor always drops with Skill Ranks to Trap Skills, which levels those three skills.

The Writhing Band of Trickery, another Rogue unique, creates a Decoy Trap that counts as a Trap Skill, so the two items work together. Death Trap is an Ultimate that arms after a delay and detonates when an enemy comes within range, Poison Trap lays poisoning traps with Knock Down and Vulnerable options, and Caltrops throws caltrops that slow enemies and damage them every second.

Questions about Scoundrel's Leathers

Which class can wear Scoundrel's Leathers?

Only the Rogue.

Is the damage bonus only for thrown traps?

The power lists it as a separate effect for Trap Skills in general, so placed traps get it as well.
