Kill streaks as a bonus

Every 15 kills within a time window increases your damage by 2% and, since Season 15, your Attack Speed by 1%. Before Season 15 the second part was an increase to Maximum Life.

The fast kill rate this needs is natural in dense packs. A build that clears monsters quickly stacks the bonus many times, while one that fights single targets rarely reaches 15 kills.

What the redesign changed

The Season 15 notes list the ring as redesigned to grant 1% Attack Speed instead of Maximum Health. That moves the ring from a defensive bonus to an offensive one, and an Attack Speed bonus also raises the kill rate that feeds the ring. The ring still always drops with a main stat and Maximum Life as fixed affixes.

Because an Attack Speed bonus shortens the time between hits, every stack makes the next one a little faster to earn. The time window for counting kills depends on the roll of the item.
