The Necrochasm Catalyst Masterwork is the last upgrade of the Crota's End auto rifle in Destiny 2. It asks for Essence of the Oversoul to be gathered from the raid and its triumphs, and the lot does that work for you.

Key facts

Upgrade	Necrochasm Catalyst Masterwork: a tracker for combatants defeated with the weapon plus extra capabilities
Unlock	Collect Essence of the Oversoul from Crota's End and its related triumphs
Catalyst perk	Three separate hits raise damage, range, handling and aim assist
Raid	Crota's End, open to all players, up to 6 players
Related triumphs	Broken Throne (Master tier), Conquest By Virtue (all Master-tier challenges); Essence of the Oversoul also from Perfected Truth, In Unison and the challenge triumphs

What the upgrade needs

The record says to collect Essence of the Oversoul from the Crota's End raid and its related triumphs.
The masterwork then gives the weapon a tracker for defeated combatants and extra capabilities.
The catalyst perk itself raises damage, range, handling and aim assist after hitting three separate targets.
Update 9.7.0 fixed the Necrotic Grip bonus to airborne effectiveness for Necrochasm, so the rifle plays as its item text says.

Raid context

Crota's End pays Crota's Memory armor, a Cursed Fist two-piece bonus and a Power of the Son four-piece bonus, along with the Broken Throne and Conquest By Virtue triumphs for the Master tier and its challenges; Broken Throne, Perfected Truth, In Unison and the challenge triumphs also pay Essence of the Oversoul. The raid is open to every player, so the lot needs no expansion.

What you get

The masterwork upgrade for Necrochasm.
Extra Options: I have Necrochasm, or I don't have Necrochasm. Extras: Self-play (Sherpa).
