Auras that feed on Consecration

Casting an Aura Skill triggers a Consecration beneath you. You gain increased Aura Potency while standing in Consecration.

Both lines depend on each other: the Aura cast creates the ground effect, and the ground effect strengthens the Aura. A build that keeps recasting its Auras can keep Consecration under its feet most of the time.

Auras and Consecration

The Paladin has three Aura skills in the game data: Defiance Aura, Fanaticism Aura and Holy Light Aura. Consecration is a Justice skill with a cooldown: you bathe in the Light, healing yourself and your allies each second and damaging enemies. Its upgrades include Hallowed Ground (a larger area, allies deal more damage and use less resource), Bastion (it Immobilizes enemies) and Sanctify. The axe always drops with a main stat and Skill Ranks to Aura Skills.

Since Consecration heals as well as damages, the axe also gives a Paladin a source of healing without any extra skill. Two-handed axes occupy the whole weapon slot.
