The core of the loadout

System Corruption is a PvP-oriented set: two pieces restore armor on kill, three add resistance to disrupt and pulse, and the four-piece talent, Hackstep Protocol, swaps your armor kits for an unlimited ability on a cooldown: it repairs armor, adds bonus armor and keeps your nameplate hidden for a few seconds. Weapon damage rises with the bonus armor you gain.

The Catharsis mask's Vicious Cycle turns damage taken into weapon damage and, at the cap, purges status effects and drops a healing cloud. Dark Winter, a named SMG with Perfect Killer, is available as an add-on.

Under 'Build Upgrade' you can keep the standard result, ask for 'High-Stat Armor (95%)' with armor and mods at 95% of the maximum or above, or convert the non-exotic gear with 'Upgrade Gear to Prototype'.

A level 40 Agent with at least 100 SHD points.
For the Prototype options: each converted piece must be at level 40 and at maximum Expertise (level 30); exotic pieces are not converted.

What does Hackstep Protocol replace?

Armor kits. In their place you get an instant, repeatable ability, limited only by its cooldown, that repairs armor and gives bonus armor.

Is the set useful in PvE?

It works there too, but its bonuses are tuned around player-versus-player fights.
