What a run is aiming for

Touch of Malice is the raid's Exotic. Its last round deals bonus damage drawn from your own life force, and its Charged with Blight frame charges a ball of Darkness that heals you and corrupts targets.

Each raid has a hard-to-get Exotic, earned randomly or through a quest. The game data also contains a triumph reward that raises the rifle's initial drop chance, so repeated clears and triumph progress both matter.

What else a run drops

King's Fall encounters drop raid weapons and armor of their own. Since Update 9.7.0 a featured raid pays out Deepsight weapons or Tier 5 armor from encounters on Standard, while a raid that is not featured gives Tier 3 armor and a chance at Deepsight weapons.

Which raids are featured changes every week at the Tuesday reset, so the loot tier of a run depends on that week's rotation.

King's Fall is a raid for fireteams of up to six, and Oryx is the encounter at the end of it.

Touch of Malice FAQ

What does the Runs option set?

The number of Oryx kills the order covers; each kill is one chance at the Exotic rather than a promise of it.

Is the Exotic quest-based?

The game data names the King's Fall raid itself as the source rather than a quest, and a triumph reward raises the rifle's drop chance, which is why the lot is sold by run.

Is the rifle a Primary weapon?

Yes, it uses Primary ammo and sits in the Kinetic slot, with Kinetic damage.
