Cruel Mercy

The Heavy Burst means a two-round burst that hits hard, with aiming taking some of the flinch out of incoming fire. Since Update 9.7.0 every weapon carries an intrinsic anti-Champion effect by archetype, and this frame carries the Unstoppable effect. Origin trait Problem Solver: Dealing sustained damage to Champion, miniboss, or boss combatants exhausts them and grants this weapon handling and reload speed. Exhausted targets deal reduced outgoing damage. It can also carry Vanguard Determination and Omolon Fluid Dynamics.

Trait column one of Cruel Mercy can roll Dragonfly, Demolitionist, Eddy Current, Fourth Time's the Charm, Keep Away and Lone Wolf. Trait column two can roll Rolling Storm, Adrenaline Junkie, Headseeker, Frenzy, Kill Clip and Desperado. Every one of these trait perks has an enhanced version. The barrel slot offers eleven options and the magazine slot twelve.

For Cruel Mercy, Commander Zavala's Vanguard focusing is the listed route. The weapon sits in his Pinnacle Ops section as vendor-exclusive gear, focused with Vanguard engrams and, for Pinnacle Ops gear, Vanguard Ciphers.

• Cruel Mercy through the Weapon Perks option: a roll with random perks (1 to 30 rolls), a roll with 1 chosen perk, or a God Roll with 2 chosen perks.
• For a chosen perk you tell the pro player which perk you want, for example Eddy Current; for the God Roll you name two, for example Eddy Current with Kill Clip.
• Weapon Tier: Tier 3 or Tier 4. Higher tiers add perks and enhanced mods; Commander Zavala's focusing decodes weapons up to Tier 4, so Tier 5 is not offered.

• An active Destiny 2 account.

Do weapon tiers matter for Cruel Mercy?

Yes. Higher weapon tiers add perks and enhanced mods, so the tier you pick changes what the weapon can do.

What does a chosen perk mean for Cruel Mercy?

With a roll with 1 chosen perk the pro player aims for one perk you name, such as Lone Wolf; with a God Roll with 2 chosen perks you name two that must sit on the same weapon, such as Lone Wolf and Kill Clip.
