The prize behind the boss
- Touch of Malice is the raid Exotic: a Kinetic scout rifle whose final round deals bonus damage that draws on the wielder's life force and then regenerates.
- Its Charged with Blight trait drains combatants' life force into a ball of Darkness that blinds and corrupts when fired.
- The Bone of the King triumph asks you to defeat Oryx with Touch of Malice equipped.
- Update 9.7.0 raised its final-round bonus, made the special reload faster with reload speed buffs and swapped a catalyst perk for Precision Instrument.
Difficulty and rewards
The game data lists King's Fall in Standard, Expert and Master forms. Master is a separate tier with its own triumphs, One True King for the clear and King of Kings for all its challenges, and in a featured raid it pays Adept weapons from challenges on top of the Standard rewards.
The fight in the data
Oryx's encounter has its own triumphs: Bone of the King for the Touch of Malice kill, and Crux of the King for completing the raid without dying. Armor from the raid is the Oryx's Memory set, and its hidden chests are the subject of the King's Ransom triumph.
