The raid

The Root of Nightmares needs the Lightfall expansion and has four challenge encounters. Illuminated Torment and Crossfire come early, then Cosmic Equilibrium, and All Hands is the final encounter. The Legendary weapons are Acasia's Dejection (Trace Rifle), Briar's Contempt (Linear Fusion Rifle), Koraxis's Distress (Grenade Launcher), Mykel's Reverence (Sidearm), Nessa's Oblation (Shotgun) and Rufus's Fury (Auto Rifle).

Loot and armor

The exotic is Conditional Finality, a Shotgun. The armor is the Nezarec's Nightmare set, which gives Bad Dreams with two pieces (final blows on subclass-debuffed targets have a rising chance to spawn an Orb of Power) and Dream-Devourer with four (a finisher on a powerful combatant grants Devour, with damage resistance while it lasts). Since Update 9.7.0 two raids and two dungeons are featured each week. In a featured raid a standard clear can drop Deepsight weapons or Tier 5 armor from encounters and challenges, and Master mode adds Adept weapons from the challenges.
