How the weekly rotation works

Each week two raids and two dungeons are featured, and featured activities pay farmable high-quality gear.
A featured raid pays Deepsight weapons or Tier 5 armor from encounters and challenges, and its hidden chests pay Tier 5 armor with a weekly lockout.
A raid outside the rotation gives a chance for Deepsight weapons and Tier 3 armor, while Master runs and challenges pay Tier 5 either way.
Raid encounters, checkpoints and challenges sit on Bungie's weekly reset list, which turns over on Tuesday at 17:00 UTC.

The shotgun being chased

Conditional Finality is the Root of Nightmares Exotic: Stasis and Solar pellets from dual barrels, strong against Unstoppable Champions, with Paracausal Pellets freezing or igniting targets when nearly all pellets land. Bungie describes raid Exotics in general as very hard to get, sometimes at random and sometimes through a long quest.

What you get

Runs: from 1 to 40 Root of Nightmares runs.
Extras: Day One Team, and Self-play (Sherpa).

Requirements

The Lightfall expansion, which holds Root of Nightmares; Destiny 2: The Collection includes it. A raid fireteam of up to six players.

Weekly Rotation Conditional Finality FAQ

Which weeks count as featured?

Whichever raids Bungie places in the rotation that week; the rotation changes at the Tuesday reset.

Is the shotgun part of every run?

The runs go toward the shotgun, and a raid Exotic is a rare reward rather than a fixed one per run.
