Malfeasance is the Kinetic Exotic hand cannon tied to the Drifter and Gambit in Destiny 2. It fires tainted slugs that burrow into combatants, and enough of them explode together and stun survivors.

Key facts

Weapon	Exotic Hand Cannon, Kinetic, Primary ammo
Intrinsic	Explosive Shadow: burrowing slugs that explode when stacked; strong against Unstoppable Champions
Trait	Taken Predator: bonus damage against Taken enemies and Gambit invaders
Catalyst	A damage bonus versus bosses, vehicles and any Guardian running a Super; found in strikes, Gambit and the Crucible
Quest	Malfeasance: defeat a Primeval found within Gambit
Vendor	The Drifter; quests can be re-acquired at the Quest Archive in the Tower
Triumphs	Aim to Misbehave (acquire the weapon); No One Lives Forever (Hand Cannon kills in Gambit)

How it plays

Explosive Shadow: slugs burrow in, stacked slugs detonate, and the weapon is strong against Unstoppable Champions.
Taken Predator: bonus damage against Taken enemies and Gambit invaders.
Fixed parts: Corkscrew Rifling, Extended Mag and Heavy Grip.
Catalyst: a damage bonus versus bosses, vehicles and any Guardian running a Super; the record says the catalyst is found in strikes, Gambit and the Crucible.

Today's quest

The Malfeasance quest line in the game data has one step: defeat a Primeval found within Gambit. The Drifter's vendor data lists the hand cannon, the Quest Archive in the Tower can re-acquire old quests, and two triumphs are tied to it: Aim to Misbehave (acquire the weapon) and No One Lives Forever (defeat combatants with Hand Cannons in Gambit, with bonus progress for Malfeasance).

About Gambit

Gambit is a PvEvP mode in which you fight waves of enemies, deposit motes to fill the bank and defeat a boss while a rival team races you, and the Gambit Ops node now has matchmaking, tiered rewards and scoring. The Primeval of the quest is that boss.

Difficulty: Full Quest, the whole current quest line in one order.
Extras: Malfeasance Catalyst, and Self-play (Sherpa).
