The Vault is the shared storage of a Destiny 2 account, open from the Character screen or in social spaces such as the Tower. It holds weapons, armor, consumables, modifications, ships and sparrows. Vault Cleaning means sorting it: duplicates and gear you no longer use are dismantled, and the rolls worth keeping stay. Lost items that are not collected wait at the Postmaster, which starts discarding once more than 20 pile up, and Bungie does not replace items that were lost or discarded.
