Ahavarion, Spear of Lycander Mythic Staff - Diablo 4

• Unique power: each Elite kill can hand you one Shrine buff picked at random, which lasts 20 seconds.
• Item type: a two-handed staff. The flavor text calls it a spear, but the game treats it as a staff, so Barbarians, Necromancers, Rogues, Spiritborn, Paladins and Warlocks cannot wear it.
• Fixed affixes: since patch 3.1.0 (30 June 2026) every copy carries Weapon Damage and Lucky Hit: Resource.
• Mythic quality: the affixes and the Unique power drop at their top values.

It is not a fixed piece of the Season 15 endgame builds for Druid or Sorcerer. It suits players who would rather get Shrine buffs from Elite packs than walk to Shrines on the map.

• The staff joined the game with patch 1.1.0 and Season 1 in July 2023.
• Iconic Mythics have no Unique version on the live servers. Blizzard tested one on the 3.2.0 PTR and dropped it, so the Horadric Cube recipe Upgrade Direct Item to Mythic, which starts from a Unique, cannot make this staff.
• Lair Bosses can drop it from Torment I upward, and patch 3.2.1 raised the Mythic drop rate of Initiate and Greater Lair Bosses and of Belial.
• The Blacksmith offers a cache that rolls only Iconic Mythics, for the same cost as the regular Mythic Unique cache; its result is random.
• Mythic Uniques are account-bound, so a copy cannot move to another account.

One to ten copies of Ahavarion, set with the Quantity option, on the realm (Seasonal or Eternal) and in the mode (Softcore or Hardcore) you choose. The Delivery Method is Piloted.

• Torment I difficulty unlocked: Lair Bosses, the main source of Mythic drops, open there.
• A Druid or Sorcerer to equip the staff.

Can I choose which Shrine effect I get?

No. Each trigger picks one Shrine effect at random, and it lasts 20 seconds.

Has the power changed since 2023?

It works the same way. At its release the duration ranged from 10 to 20 seconds; at Mythic quality it now sits at the top value of 20.
