Shroud of False Death is an Iconic Mythic chest armor for all classes, and its power is a single rescue. When a hit would kill you, you heal to full Life instead, gain a Barrier worth 100% of your Maximum Life for 3 seconds and knock back Close enemies. After that the power stays off until you return to town. The chest arrived with patch 2.0 in October 2024, the update that also launched Vessel of Hatred.

How the power changed

Patch 2.0 (October 2024): the first version gave Stealth and 40% Movement Speed after 2 seconds without dealing damage.
A later rework made it the death save it is now, at first on a 300-second cooldown.
Patch 3.1.0 (30 June 2026) replaced the cooldown: one use, then nothing until you go back to town.

Note: item descriptions that promise Stealth or Movement Speed refer to the 2024 version, not to the chest in Season 15.

Rolls and lore

Since patch 3.1.0 every copy rolls All Stats and All Resistances as its two fixed affixes. The flavor text links the armor to Lucion, the prince who feigned death after Auriel struck him.

Where it drops

There is no Unique version, so it only drops as a Mythic. It belongs to the Iconic Mythic pool that the Lair Bosses share, so any of them can drop it, and patch 3.2.1 (15 September 2026) raised the chance of Mythic Uniques from random drops. The Blacksmith's Iconic-only Mythic cache, added in Season 15, is one crafting route.
