Juggernaut Core Skills are empowered: they deal increased damage to the first enemy they hit and store the damage dealt to that target, up to 10 times. Fortress then unleashes the stored damage on all enemies inside its area. The shield carries a fixed skill rank for Core Skills.

Affixes and gear details

With Lord of Hatred, Uniques carry fewer preset affixes, which leaves more room to chase a better combination. Since patch 3.1.0 every Unique drops with two fixed affixes, and on Gate of the Red Dawn they are Primary Core Stat and Skill Ranks to Core Skills. It is class-locked: only the Paladin can equip it. Unique items can be tempered, and since patch 3.1.0 Enchanting can alter the affixes of Unique and Mythic Unique items.

Where it comes from

Gate of the Red Dawn is part of the loot table of Harbinger of Hatred, a Lair Boss found in Nahantu, near the Kurast Docks Waypoint; the boss element type is Shadow. The fight needs Torment 1 or higher, and 1x Greater Lair Key opens the Hoard after the kill. The Greater Lair Key comes from defeating Initiate Lair Bosses. The Paladin part of that table also lists Mantle of the Grey.
