Portal Ops

Bungie describes Portal Ops as the hub at the bottom of the Director with Solo, Fireteam, Arena, Pinnacle, Crucible and Gambit Ops. You choose a difficulty and a reward rank, and the difficulty sets the reward tier: Normal Tier 1, Advanced Tier 2, Expert Tier 3, Master Tier 4, and Grandmaster and Ultimate Tier 5. The Seasonal Hub next to it holds Vanguard Alerts and Conquests, which no longer reset.

The six categories

Solo Ops hold vertical slices of destinations you may know, and Fireteam Ops are better completed by three players. Arena Ops are six-player activities from past seasons, Arena Ops, Astral Alignment and Nightmare Containment, all with matchmaking. Pinnacle Ops are the three-player endgame set with exotic missions and a loot pool of their own. Crucible Ops and Gambit Ops cover PvP and PvEvP. Quick Launch picks something fast.

How does difficulty change rewards?
