Devouring Rift explained

Casting an Empowering Rift gives you Devour. Damage dealt by you or your allies from inside the rift disrupts combatants, the effect that counters Overload Champions.

While Devour is active, defeating a target also gives class ability energy, so the rift pays for the next rift.

Fit

A Void Super must be equipped for the Devour part to run, so the boots belong to a Void Warlock or a Prismatic Warlock with Nova Bomb: Cataclysm.

Disruption is the effect that counters Overload Champions, so a team that fights from inside the rift gains a Champion answer.

Class ability energy returned by kills during Devour keeps the next rift ready, so the legs are built around casting rifts often.
