Malevolent Grasp explained

While a Strand Super is equipped, casting Rift suspends nearby combatants. Suspend deals damage over time and that damage heals you. Targets that break free take additional damage, and defeating a suspended target heals you a moderate amount.

The Rift cast is what starts the effect, so the Rift ability is the button that sets the perk off. The description on the item itself refers to nescient fear spreading like wildfire.

Getting Deimosuffusion in the game

The collection entry for Deimosuffusion lists exotic armor focusing as the source. Exotic engram previews also include the piece, and Rahool decodes those engrams in the Tower. A loadout holds one exotic armor piece, so Deimosuffusion and a second exotic helmet, gauntlets, chest piece or boots cannot be equipped together.

What you get

Deimosuffusion for the Warlock class, an exotic helmet with the Malevolent Grasp perk.
The Stat Options group offers None, High Overall Stats (65+) and six single-stat choices (Health, Melee, Grenade, Super, Class, Weapons), each 25+.
A Number Of Pieces selector (1 to 10) plus Completion Speed levels Normal, Express and Super Express.

Requirements

The Renegades expansion has to be owned on your Destiny 2 account.

Deimosuffusion FAQ

Can every class use Deimosuffusion?

No. It is Warlock gear, and the helmet cannot be equipped on a Titan or a Hunter.

Does Deimosuffusion work without a Strand Super?

No. The perk is written for the time a Strand Super is equipped, so the build needs one before the Rift can suspend anyone.

What do Stat Options change for Deimosuffusion?

They add an optional target for the rolled stats: High Overall Stats (65+), or 25+ in one named stat. None adds no stat target.
