What the options cover

Moirai and the Melee stat

Threaded Spike already returns melee energy for every target it hits, and catching the dart as it comes back raises the amount; Webcatcher adds Tangles to that loop. That is where the Melee stat comes in: Bungie describes it as the stat that shortens the melee cooldown and adds to the melee energy gained from all sources. Strand itself is not free. It is unlocked by progressing through the Lightfall campaign on Neomuna, which needs the Lightfall expansion, and Strand Aspects and Fragments come from the Pouka Pond in the Hall of Heroes on Neomuna.
