What the Deathbringer catalyst adds

The catalyst unlocks the Dead Weight perk: Dark Descent reaches its full strength faster. Dark Descent is the heart of the launcher, so a quicker ramp-up means less waiting between full-strength detonations.

Dark Deliverance is the intrinsic of Deathbringer: fires remotely detonated projectiles that drop Void orbs on combatants. Dark Descent: the further a Void orb falls, the stronger its detonation. The other fixed perks on the weapon are Volatile Launch, Alloy Casing and Composite Stock.

Where the catalyst comes from

The catalyst drops in Vanguard, Gambit and Crucible activity. Once you have it, its objective counts 400 targets defeated with Deathbringer. Progress shows on the catalyst's record in the Exotic Catalysts section of the Triumphs screen.
