What the catalyst changes on Duality

The Duality catalyst is a stat upgrade without a named perk: it raises the shotgun's magazine size and range. Both hip-fire and slug play benefit from the larger magazine and the longer reach.

Compression Chamber is the intrinsic of Duality: a pellet spread when fired from the hip, or a single high-damage slug while aiming. On Black Wings: landing most pellets of a spread, or pellet final blows, gives stacking precision damage and a reload speed buff, and precision slug hits extend the duration. The other fixed perks on the weapon are Corkscrew Rifling, Alloy Magazine and Short-Action Stock.

How the catalyst is earned in the game

Today the catalyst is a Banshee-44 quest called Walk the Line. It starts straight with the calibration, defeating targets with Duality through Ops activities, where Crucible wins count for more, and a final stop at Banshee-44 completes it. The catalyst record counts 400 targets defeated with Duality. Progress shows on the catalyst's record in the Exotic Catalysts section of the Triumphs screen.

What you get

Duality catalyst, unlocked and delivered to your account, without the masterwork step.
Extras on the order form: Self-play (Sherpa) and Add Catalyst Masterwork.

Requirements

Duality already unlocked on the account, because the catalyst is slotted into that shotgun.

Duality catalyst FAQ

How do I get the masterwork too?

Use the extra named Add Catalyst Masterwork. Without it the order covers the catalyst itself.

How does Compression Chamber work on Duality?

A pellet spread when fired from the hip, or a single high-damage slug while aiming.

Where do I get Duality itself?

Duality is sold in the Exotic Archive at the Monument to Lost Lights, for an Exotic Cipher and Glimmer. Buying it needs Beyond Light. The catalyst fits that weapon alone.
