Intrinsic trait	Mark of the Devourer: rounds pierce targets and inflict corruption, and final blows leave Remnants behind
Weapon perk	Soul Devourer: absorbing a Remnant strengthens Mark of the Devourer and partly refills the magazine
Catalyst perk	Refined Soul: bonus range and stability, and a final blow or an absorbed Remnant adds more range plus a short boost to mobility and handling
Catalyst objective	Defeat 700 targets with Thorn
Catalyst source	Found in Vanguard, Gambit and Crucible activity

What the Thorn catalyst adds

Refined Soul is the perk this catalyst brings: bonus range and stability, and a final blow or an absorbed Remnant adds more range plus a short boost to mobility and handling. Remnants are what the intrinsic leaves behind, so the catalyst rewards the weapon's own kill loop.

On Thorn, Mark of the Devourer works like this: rounds pierce targets and inflict corruption, and final blows leave Remnants behind. On top of that sit its weapon perks. Soul Devourer: absorbing a Remnant strengthens Mark of the Devourer and partly refills the magazine. The other fixed perks on the weapon are Corkscrew Rifling, Accurized Rounds and Textured Grip.

Earning the catalyst in the game

Strikes, Gambit and the Crucible are where the catalyst turns up, and it needs 700 defeated targets with Thorn before it is complete. Progress shows on the catalyst's record in the Exotic Catalysts section of the Triumphs screen.

What you get

Thorn catalyst, unlocked and delivered to your account, without the masterwork step.
Extras on the order form: Catalyst Masterwork.

Requirements

Thorn already unlocked on the account, because the catalyst is slotted into that Hand Cannon.

Thorn catalyst FAQ

Is the masterwork part of the lot?

The catalyst is ordered on its own. The masterwork step is the extra named Catalyst Masterwork, so tick it if the catalyst should be masterworked as well.

How does Mark of the Devourer work on Thorn?

Rounds pierce targets and inflict corruption, and final blows leave Remnants behind.

Where do I get Thorn itself?

Thorn is sold in the Exotic Archive at the Monument to Lost Lights, for an Exotic Cipher and Glimmer. The catalyst fits that weapon alone.
