How Gambit and the track work

Gambit is a PvEvP mode: you fight waves of enemies, deposit motes to fill the bank, and defeat a boss while a rival team races you. You can slow them with Taken envoys or by invading their side.
Update 9.7.0 gave the Gambit Ops node tiered rewards and scoring, and restored the Gambit Reputation Rank Reward Track.
The Drifter focuses all tiered Gambit gear with Gambit engrams.
In the game data, the rank rewards include Gambit engrams, Enhancement Cores and Prisms, Ascendant Alloy and an Ascendant Shard.

Where to find him

The Drifter stands in the Tower to the right of the left-most teleport, where you can raise reputation with him and unlock tiered Gambit gear with Gambit engrams. Gambit Ops has matchmaking, so the booster does not need a premade team to reach the ranks.

What you get

Gambit Ranks: a slider from rank 1 to rank 17.
The matches that raise the rank are played by the booster in Gambit Ops.

Requirements

Gambit is open to every player, so no expansion is needed.

Does Gambit still have private matches?

Yes. Private Gambit matches are played from the Gambit Ops node.

Is the Gambit Rank the same as Glory?

No. The Gambit Rank is the Drifter's own reputation track; Glory belongs to Competitive Crucible.
