Commendations are the thank-you votes Guardians give each other after an activity, and Commendation Score is the running total of the ones you have received. This lot raises that total on your Guardian by the amount you choose, from 50 to 2,000 in steps of 50.

Key facts

Mechanic	Commendations given by other Guardians after an activity; Commendation Score is the total received
Types	Sixteen commendations in four groups: Ally, Mastery, Fun, Leadership
Display fix	Update 9.7.0 fixed commendation counts above three digits
Guardian Ranks	Eleven ranks from New Light to Paragon remain in the game
Order range	50 to 2,000 points in steps of 50

What you get

The Commendation Score you set with the slider, earned on your account.
Commendations from other players, in the types they choose.
Loot dropped in the activities played while the score builds.

How commendations work

After an activity a player can give others commendations from sixteen types, such as Joy Bringer, Indispensable, Selfless, Heroic, Playmaker or Pacesetter. They sit in four groups: Ally, Mastery, Fun and Leadership. Players hand them out from the mission summary at the end of an activity. Bungie fixed the display of counts above three digits in Update 9.7.0, so large totals show correctly.

Why people order it

The score is a visible sign of how other players rate you. Guardian Ranks remain after Update 9.7.0, but none of their current objectives in the game data asks for Commendation Score. Because commendations come from other players, the amount builds over many activities rather than one run.

Requirements

A Destiny 2 account with Guardian Ranks unlocked, which Bungie lists among the systems available to all players.

What are the steps?

The slider moves in steps of 50 points, from 50 up to 2,000 per order.
