The Final Shape campaign takes place in The Pale Heart, inside the Traveler, and it is launched from the World tab. Progress through it is how a Guardian gets Prismatic, along with further Aspects and Fragments, and it requires owning The Final Shape. The expansion is still on Bungie's list of content available after Update 9.7.0, so the whole story can be played today. What the options cover

Full Campaign - Normal or Full Campaign - Legendary: the story from start to end.
The other two Difficulty choices, one on Normal and one on Legendary, open a checklist of nine story steps: Transmigration, Temptation and Exegesis; Requiem and Ascent; The Message I-III and Liminality; Dissent and Iconoclasm.

About The Final Shape campaign

The Message is played as Part I, Part II and Part III, which is why the checklist bundles it into one entry. Besides Prismatic, Bungie names Wild Card, Convalescence: Budding and Destined Heroes as the exotic quests tied to this stage, and Wild Card is still listed as an Exotic mission available today. Overthrow, the open activity of The Pale Heart, needs The Final Shape too. The expansion has its own title, Transcendent: its Shape of Finality triumph asks for Excision on Grandmaster difficulty, and its Synchronicity triumph for every Prismatic Aspect, Fragment and ability on a single character.

A Final Shape activity for a group of up to twelve Guardians, with a separate Grandmaster version that counts for the Transcendent title.
