What the catalyst changes on Winterbite

Once installed, the catalyst gives the weapon Rimestealer: breaking a Stasis crystal or killing a frozen target gives you Frost Armor. Frozen targets are what the glaive's projectile creates, so Frost Armor is easy to earn.

On Winterbite, Big Frigid Glaive works like this: fires a large ball of energy that locks onto nearby targets and freezes them; strong against Unstoppable Champions. On top of that sit its weapon perks. Weighted Edge: melee attacks deal more damage and slow targets while the glaive has ammo loaded; Tilting at Windmills: blocking damage with the shield increases movement speed while shielding. The other fixed perks on the weapon are Supercooled Accelerator and Alloy Magazine.

Where the catalyst comes from

In the game the catalyst is a drop from Vanguard, Gambit and Crucible playlists, and its objective is to defeat targets with Winterbite. Progress shows on the catalyst's record in the Exotic Catalysts section of the Triumphs screen.
