Fafnir Catalyst

The catalyst unlocks the No Distractions perk: aiming for a short time reduces flinch. Charged linear shots reward standing still, so less flinch while aiming keeps the shots on target.

On Fafnir, Quantum Nova works like this: an alternate weapon action spends part of the reserves to over-pressurize the rifle, which weakens targets heavily; the duration scales with the ammo spent and pauses while the rifle is holstered. On top of that sit its weapon perks. Subatomic Distortion: shots are compressed quantum particles that decompress inside targets after a short delay and lacerate them, and over-pressurizing releases a detonation around you. The other fixed perks on the weapon are Hammer-Forged Rifling, Projection Fuse and Hand-Laid Stock.

Strikes, Gambit and the Crucible are where the catalyst turns up, and defeating targets with Fafnir is what completes it. Progress shows on the catalyst's record in the Exotic Catalysts section of the Triumphs screen.
