How Kintsugi plays

Final blows from weapons whose damage type matches your Super create a burst of healing around you that grants allies restoration. After reviving, or being revived, you gain an aura that provides overshields to you and nearby allies.

It is a team-support helmet: both halves of the perk are about allies, one for healing and one for revives. Its in-game blurb refers to Commander Zavala saying that what was broken can be reformed and become better than before.

Sources for Precious Scars

Per the collection entry, the source of Precious Scars is exotic armor focusing. Exotic engram previews name the piece as well, and Rahool decodes the engrams in the Tower. One exotic armor piece can be worn at a time, so wearing Precious Scars replaces any other exotic helmet, gauntlets, chest armor or leg armor.
