The Rites of Ember perk in detail

Your Daybreak projectiles ignite targets on impact. Scorch deals additional damage and builds toward more powerful Ignitions, and dealing damage with Scorch or Ignitions grants melee energy.

It is a Solar Warlock perk: Daybreak, Scorch and Ignitions are the pieces it speaks to. The item's flavor text refers to an ancient Earth proverb about going out in a blaze of glory.

Where to find Dawn Chorus

The collections menu shows exotic armor focusing as the source of Dawn Chorus. On top of that the piece is on the exotic engram preview list, which Rahool decodes in the Tower. The game allows a single exotic armor piece in your loadout, which means wearing Dawn Chorus switches off any other exotic armor you equip.
