The Chaperone Catalyst

Triple Tap is the perk this catalyst brings: rapidly landing precision hits returns one round to the magazine. A slug shotgun rewards accuracy, and the catalyst pays accuracy back in ammunition.

On The Chaperone, Precision Slug works like this: fires a single-slug precision round. On top of that sit its weapon perks. The Roadborn: precision final blows and rapid precision hits briefly grant bonus handling, range, rate of fire and precision damage. The other fixed perks on the weapon are Hammer-Forged Rifling, Accurized Rounds and Hand-Laid Stock.

The catalyst drops in Vanguard, Gambit and Crucible activity. Once you have it, its objective counts 500 targets defeated with The Chaperone. Progress shows on the catalyst's record in the Exotic Catalysts section of the Triumphs screen.

• The Chaperone catalyst, unlocked and delivered to your account, without the masterwork step.
• Extras on the order form: Add Catalyst Masterwork.

• The Chaperone already unlocked on the account, because the catalyst is slotted into that shotgun.

How do I get the masterwork too?

Use the extra named Add Catalyst Masterwork. Without it the order covers the catalyst itself.

How does Precision Slug work on The Chaperone?

Fires a single-slug precision round.

What finishes The Chaperone catalyst?

Defeat 500 targets with The Chaperone.

Does The Chaperone depend on precision hits?

It leans on them. The slug is a precision round, The Roadborn triggers on precision final blows and rapid precision hits, and Triple Tap returns a round after rapid precision hits.
