The Strange Favor rank

Bungie's progression text describes it as a rank that goes up as you complete matches in Dares of Eternity, where consecutive completions help you move up faster and there are no loss penalties. It has 16 steps from Guardian I to Legend and 10,000 points in all, and it can be reset a limited number of times. Dares of Eternity is open to all players.

Not Xûr's vendor rank

Xûr has a second track, the Xûr Rank, which rises when you spend Strange Coins with him. It also has 16 steps, but it is separate from Strange Favor. Bungie's notes say the Xûr reputation reward track was restored and that buying from Xûr grants reputation. He sells from Friday to Tuesday.
