One with the Void explained

Your Void Souls stay out for a longer time, and as they defeat targets they gain more damage and more durability, so one that survives a fight keeps getting stronger.

Interacting with a Soul retrieves it, which lets you carry the most powerful one to a new position instead of letting it expire.

Fit in a build

Void Souls come from the Void Warlock kit, so these gauntlets only add value on that subclass.

The retrieve-and-redeploy loop makes the piece good in long fights where you can reposition between waves.

Briarbinds FAQ

Can I move a Void Soul?

Yes. Interact with the Soul to pick it up, then redeploy it where you want it.

Is Briarbinds a Void-only piece?

Its effect only touches Void Souls, so it does nothing for Solar, Arc, Stasis or Strand Warlocks.

Where does Briarbinds come from in the game?

Exotic Armor Focusing is the source the game data gives for it, and Bungie describes Exotic Ciphers as usable for focusing Exotics at the Cryptarch.
