Key facts

Weapon	The Navigator, Exotic Trace Rifle, Strand, Special ammo
Catalyst	Special reload then fire creates a Grapple Tangle at the targeted point
Unlock bar	Defeat targets with The Navigator and complete the secret encounter again
Source	Secret encounter in the Ghosts of the Deep dungeon
Dungeon armor	Taken King: two-piece The Ceremony, four-piece Lucent Swarm
Dungeon weapons	Cold Comfort, Greasy Luck, New Pacific Epitaph, No Survivors

What the bundle covers

The rifle itself, from the secret encounter of the dungeon: a Strand trace rifle on Special ammo with the Protective Weave and Weft Cutter perks.
The catalyst, which adds a Grapple Tangle at the targeted point after a special reload and a shot.
The catalyst unlock bar asks you to defeat targets with The Navigator and to complete the secret encounter once more.
The masterwork, the upgrade that the catalyst enables once the bar is full.

Why the encounter matters

Bungie's record for the catalyst says it is acquired from a secret encounter in the dungeon, which is the same place the rifle comes from, so the two items share one trip. Ghosts of the Deep also pays the Taken King armor, whose two-piece The Ceremony and four-piece Lucent Swarm bonuses come from Lucent Hive rituals, plus four tiered Legendary weapons.

What you get

The Navigator and its catalyst.
Extras: Catalyst Masterwork, and Self-play (Sherpa).

Requirements

Ghosts of the Deep unlocked: Dungeons need their Dungeon Key; Destiny 2: The Collection includes every Dungeon Key.

The Navigator + Catalyst FAQ

How does this differ from the rifle alone?

The rifle lot leaves the catalyst as an option, while this one includes it.

Which triumph covers the rifle?

Navigator's Companion, which is completed by obtaining The Navigator from the dungeon.

Which element is the rifle?

Strand, with Special ammo.

Is the secret encounter part of the normal run?

No. It is a separate secret encounter inside the dungeon, which the catalyst record asks you to complete a second time.
